Our Yummy Tummy cafe, opening in July, will feature breakfast all day, homemade pizza, lunch specials, BetterBurgers, soups, baked goods,
16 flavors of ice cream,
gourmet coffees, a drive thru window. Store will feature Wis. Cheese , Cheese Curds; snacks, groceries, camping supplies, gifts.

Big Cabin is 2 cabins in one. Each side sleeps 7, both sides sleep a total of 14.
THE BIG CABIN DUPLEX!


THE 3 BEARS CABIN!
It is a generous 20 x 24, with a huge dble loft, with catwalk,
that has 2 dble beds and 2 bunksize singles. Downstairs is a double
bed and dble pullout couch. The star of 3Bears is a chainsaw sculpture
of 3 bear cubs. We have added bear bed posts, bear doors, bear chairs,
for a fun look. 3 Bears has a full bath with shower; microwave; coffeepot;
full size fridge; 2 burner hotplate; gorgeous pine table; gas fireplace.
The 3BEARS can sleep up to ten.
Relax on our 24 x 8 covered porch or enjoy the view from inside thru
the many windows . All bed and bath linens furnished. Bring your own
cooking and eating dishes and utensils. Only $99 per day for two; $20
each additional person 16 and up, & kids 10-15 only $10.

WildWood The cabin with the tree in the middle. A delight to the eye with knotty pine as the star. . A couch with grapevine back and arms, custom table, beautiful staircase around the tree trunk, and a childs toybox/seat snuggled in the alcove under the stairs. WildWood can sleep up to 8 in a dble bed in main floor bedroom, in 2 dble beds and 2 bunksize singles in the huge double loft ( with a catwalk between). A 24' covered porch, hammock, small fridge, microwave, coffeepot, hotplate, full bathroom with shower, all bed & bath linens, gas fireplace. Bring your own cooking & eating dishes & utensils. Named after my dear 104 year old mother-in-law, Leona's is a roomy 20 x 24' custom built delight which sleeps 6. Includes full bath with shower, new covered deck, microwave, coffeepot, 2 burner hotplate and full size fridge. LEONA'S offers a gorgeous knotty pine octogonal table with built in seating; an alcove bedroom & loft bedroom with built in double beds; a knotty pine pull out couch that sleeps 2 more; all bed and bath linens furnished; gas fireplace. THE RUSTIC! A compact beauty, the Rustic is a chalet styled cabin that can sleep up to six. It features an alcove bedroom with new built-in double bed and 2 small lofts with 2 singles in each plus a catwalk connecting the lofts (THE KIDS LOVE THIS PART !!) The RUSTIC offers a micro wave; small fridge; 2 burner hotplate; coffeepot; all bed and bath linens furnished; a bathroom with toilet & sink; gas wall furnace. SLEEPER CABIN! A cozy, knotty pine chalet style camping cabin, 8 x 12, that sleeps 2. Relax in either of the two rustic bunks. We provide mattresses, pillows and bedding plus shelves for gear, and windows for keeping an eye out for those elusive whitetail or perhaps a sandhill crane. An 8'deck too. Bring your own lights, cooking and eating dishes and utensils. Only $30. Firewood and firepits available ![]()

The Kickapoo River is the perfect paddling river. Both challenging and serene, its current is a mild 2 1/2 mph. We provide you with canoes or kayaks, paddles, life jackets, seat cushions, directions and shuttle. You can now also enjoy a tube float on the river: a 3 1/2 hour float only $10; a 6 hour float only $15. Includes tube and shuttle back. We can provide shuttle service for your own boat too. We are open for paddling in April and into October or even November, depending on the mildness of the weather.
You can choose from our basic hourly trips, customized trips or full day/multi-day trips. For your paddling comfort we now rent Portable Back Rests. Ask about them for your next trip.

All camping on overnight trips is done at the small public parks along the river and here at Crooked River Resort. The parks are conveniently located an easy days paddle apart. Many people choose to camp here at Crooked River Resort the night before their trip. Before you leave, we provide you with a laminated river map, go over the trip with you and agree upon a pickup time at the end of your trip. All parks have water and public toilets but no firewood. We offer firewood for sale for your overnight camping trips too.
2 DAY: Readstown to GAYSMILLS to Steuban...camp GAYSMILLS and get picked up at Steuban.
3 DAY: Readstown to GAYSMILLS to Steuban to Wauzeka...camp GAYSMILLS, Steuban and pickup at Wauzeka.

Make a leisurely day of it! Add hours to your trip, not miles.
LaZy Days: Choose the trip to Soldiers Grove, a 2 1/2 hour trip. Add as many hours as you wish, at only $7/Hr, and we pick you up when you choose.
EZ-Days: Choose the trip to GAYSMILLS, a 7 hour trip, but do it in 2 days. The first day you paddle to Soldiers Grove. Take all day to paddle, fish, swim to Soldiers Grove, then camp overnight. The second day, launch from Soldiers Grove and paddle to GAYSMILLS, normally a 4 1/2 hour paddle. Take as long as you wish, and we pick you up at the time we both agreed to the day you launched. Rate is $45 per EZ Day.

Tent Camping:
$14 per tent (1-2 persons); $2.50 for each extra 16 yrs+, $1 for 10-15 yrs.
Scout or youth-group rate: $12 per 2 person tent, $2 for extra 16 yrs+, $1 extra 10-15 yrs.
Group camping 5 or more tents: $13 per 2 person tent, $2.50 for each 16 yrs+, $1 for 10-15yrs.
Crooked River Resort is on a class A trout stream, Reads Creek, which flows into the Kickapoo River. Fish here or walk a short distance to where the creek meets the river. There are over 200 miles of great trout streams in the Valley. In the Kickapoo, besides trout, angle for catfish, northern, carp, suckers, even sunnies. (then again, you never know what might swim your way, fish can't read books or websites)

We are located halfway between Chicago and Mpls, approx. 4 1/2 hours to each.
40m LaCrosse, 75m Madison, 44m Prairie du Chien, 75m Dubuque.
From La Crosse, take Hwy 14/61 south. At Readstown, go right, turning south from Hwy 14 onto Hwy 61, go 1/4 mile, and as soon as you come to the end of the bridge rail, turn right into our driveway, at the big yellow sign.
From Madison, Milwaukee, Chicago, Rockford take I-90 to Madison, take Hwy 12/18 West across Madison, take Hwy 14 West (towards LaCrosse) to READSTOWN. At Readstown, take a left, going South onto Hwy 61. Look for our sign only a quarter mile down on the right.
From Minnesota drive to LaCrosse, take Hwy 14/61 south (towards Madison) to Readstown. Take a right, going south onto Hwy 61.
From Dubuque area, go north on Hwy 61. We are 3 1/2 miles past Soldiers Grove, on the left.
From Prairie du Chien, take Hwy 27 north to Mt Sterling. Take a right on Hwy 171 east to Gays Mills. Take a left at Gays onto Hwy 131 north. At Soldiers Grove, take a left onto Hwy 61 north, We are 3 1/2 miles on left.
Cancellation Policy:
1. A reservation constitutes a two-way
contract between Crooked River Resort and you. It assures that your accommodations
will be kept available for you on the dates indicated, and it assures
us that we can turn away other potential quests for the dates indicated.
2. A cancellation fee of 25 % of base rental applies to all cancellations
made more than 14 days prior to check-in date. If we can re-rent, then $10
fee will be charged. A cancellation fee of 50% of base rental applies to
cancellations made less than 14 days prior to check-date. If we can re-rent,
than $20 service fee will be charged. If you re-book, and we can re-rent,
than we credit your deposit toward your new reservation. In other words,
we just want you to come and stay!
4. It is understood that Crooked River Resort cannot accept responsibility
for inclement weather, change in travel plans, personal sickness or injury,
etc.
5.Unfortunately, all deposits will be forfeited for no show.

LOG CAMPER!
Completely transformed, from the addition of rough cut log siding on the outside to the knotty pine lined walls on the inside, the Log Camper is a whimsical get away that is a combination of a camper and log cabin.
The Log Camper sleeps 4, has electricity; a microwave; small fridge; coffeepot; all bed and bath linens; bottled water for drinking & washing up; electric heater; & clean portapotty. Bring your own cooking and eating dishes and utensils. Only $40, and $5 for each extra adult. Firewood and firepits available.
